“Words…they’re just everywhere”

If we only take a moment and stop and look around us there’s so many things to see…but you know what?…Words exist in this world too…words that heal, words that love, words that hurt and words that diminish us as people..Just think about your words for a moment!


SPEAKER

Rev. Phillip Thomason

Rev Thomason is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta with a Masters of Divinity and PhD. In Pastoral Care. He served as Director of Hospice Care at Henrietta Egelston Hospital for Children and Clinical Chaplain in Oncology and HIV/AIDS at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

He is now retired and lives with his husband of 26 years in Brevard NC, along with their schnauzer, Eleanor (yes, you guessed it, named after Eleanor Roosevelt.) He likes to read, follow University of Tennessee women’s basketball and travel.


MUSICIAN

Michael Jefry Stevens

Mr. Stevens is a accomplished pianist, composer and “Steinway Artist,”. He has released over 80 CDs and composed over 340 works for both large and small ensembles. An active band-leader for over 40 years, his music spans jazz and modern musical styles. Michael lives in Black Mountain and is a frequent performer and popular jazz piano teacher in the WNC area. We, once again, welcome Michael to UUFH as our guest pianist
