Action One: Vote NO on the Proposed Constitutional Amendments
Our Shared Communities, Our Shared Responsibility
Down Home North Carolina is organizing AGAINST the proposed Property and Income Tax constitutional amendments on the November ballot. The organization argues that the amendments could affect funding for public services and schools.
As Unitarian Universalists, we value democracy, equity, justice, and the inherent worth and dignity of every person. One way we put those values into action is by becoming informed about the decisions that shape our communities.
Action Two: Love’s On the Ballot: Voting Our Faith
Tuesdays, September 29, October 6, October 13 & October 20 | Noon–1:00 p.m. | Online
How can people of faith bring their values into civic life?
Love’s On the Ballot: Voting Our Faith is a four-part lunch-and-learn series exploring the connections between faith, democracy, children, public education, and civic participation. The series is presented by the NC Council of Churches, Christians Against Christian Nationalism NC, Pastors for NC Children, and People of Faith for Public Schools.
For UUs, this is an opportunity to reflect on what it means to put our values of love, justice, compassion, interdependence, and democratic participation into action.

Action Three: Get to Know Our Neighbors at the Green Meadows Block Party
Saturday, October 3 | 3:00–8:00 p.m. | Sullivan Park
One of the most powerful things we can do for our community is simply show up, listen, and build relationships.
The Green Meadows Block Party is an opportunity to meet neighbors, share food and conversation, and connect with people we might not otherwise encounter. This election season, organizers are especially encouraging people to step outside their usual circles and build relationships across differences.
That connects deeply with our UU commitment to the inherent worth and dignity of every person, justice and equity, and the interdependent web of all existence. Grassroots democracy begins with knowing our neighbors and making sure people feel heard and valued.
Want to participate? Volunteers are welcome, and a free T-shirt is available for those who sign up to help. An RSVP is appreciated so organizers know who is coming.

Love is an action.
This fall, let’s put our faith into practice by learning, listening, participating, and building community.
