If you thought summer blockbusters were only about explosions and superheroes, think again. On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 7 PM, the Bo Thomas Auditorium at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock became ground zero for the Hendersonville movie event of the season: the world premiere of Color Beyond the Lines, a powerful documentary that’s already making waves in Hendersonville and beyond.

Produced by UUFH member and local filmmaker David Weintraub, and presented by the Center for Cultural Preservation, this film does what great documentaries do best; it opens our eyes and engages our hearts while chronicling important history. Color Beyond the Lines traces the 60th anniversary of school integration in Hendersonville, digging into the triumphs, challenges, and rich spirit of the Black community’s pursuit of education.
