New Member Classes at UUFH
Are you a relatively new member of UUFH? Becoming part of a UU congregation can be a great joy but also a challenge — especially for those who are new to Unitarian Universalism. If you’d like to go deeper into UUism, this free education series is for you!
Rev. George will be hosting a series of sessions designed for new members and friends, based on the UUA’s “Starting Point” curriculum. This four-session newcomer program is widely used in Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregations. It moves past traditional membership classes by using experiential small-group ministry to help participants experience UU history, theology, and shared values.
Program sessions will take place Sundays after coffee hour in the sanctuary, about 12:30 p.m., on Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 11, and Oct. 18.
This series is now open to all UUFH members and friends, as well as to visitors who may be interested in future membership — up to a maximum of 20 participants. Please sign up here.
If the session fills up, rest assured the series will be offered again, likely in January/February.
The four sessions are as follows:
- Session One: Your Journey — Sharing Our Stories and Spiritual Roadmaps
- Session Two: The Unitarian Universalist Journey & The Journey of Our Church
- Session Three: Our Journey Together — The Three Paths of Unitarian Universalism, Part One
- Session Four: The Three Paths of Unitarian Universalism, Part Two & Finding Your Journey Group
Participants are strongly encouraged to complete all four sessions. If you have questions, please contact Rev. George at revgeorge@uufhnc.org.
