Rev. George’s theme for May is “Awakening Curiosity.” How curious are you? This month’s theme invites you to awaken your own curiosity by opening yourself up to the world with a sense of WONDER. We start to see things differently when we ask questions, explore new ideas, and break free from the constraints of conventional thinking.

       The world of story illuminates a protagonist’s curiosity in myriad ways. How many of you remember Rudyard Kipling’s Elephant’s Child with his “insatiable curiosity?” He got in deep trouble with a crocodile, but in the process learned a great deal about his strength and perseverance.

       For this month’s niches, Judith H., an avid fan of the Alice books, has chosen to display the theme of curiosity by highlighting the world of “Wonderland.” Alice’s adventure begins with a simple act of curiosity, following a peculiar white rabbit down a rabbit hole.

       This literary treasure inspires us to follow our curiosity, let our imaginations run wild, and discover the wonders that await us, just beyond the surface of everyday life. This sense of curiosity is something we can all cultivate in our daily lives. I’ll meet you at the rabbit hole!
