A warm UUFH welcome to Cameron and Ellen!

After many years of involvement with Unitarian Universalist congregations in Jacksonville, Florida, and Boise, Idaho, Cameron and Ellen have made Hendersonville their new home. Along the way, they also found spiritual community with the UU congregation in Provincetown, Massachusetts, during summer visits.

Their decision to move to Western North Carolina was inspired by a love of the outdoors and a desire to once again experience four distinct seasons. Since arriving, they’ve been enjoying bike rides along the Ecusta Trail and exploring favorite local destinations like DuPont State Recreational Forest and the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site. They’re especially looking forward to watching the mountains come alive with autumn color.

Cameron spent his career as a sportswriter for newspapers and magazines, including serving as a staff writer covering the PGA Tour while living in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Ellen holds a master’s degree in museum education and has shared her passion for learning through museums and schools in New York City, Boise, and St. Augustine.

Already embracing their new community, Cameron has joined the Asheville Scrabble Club, and together they are discovering local libraries, theaters, and movie houses. They hope to spend many years hiking, biking, and enjoying all that Western North Carolina has to offer.

We’re delighted they’ve chosen UUFH as their spiritual home and look forward to getting to know them better.
