Wizarding Wisdom & Marvelous Mrs. Martin

While we may sort into different “houses,” it’s love (not a sorting hat) that truly binds us together in beloved community.

Owl delivery for this Sunday, March 8th!

This Sunday, March 8th, Mrs. Morgan will lead a magical lesson during the Family Ministry learning hour!

We will explore the unifying power of love and learn some valuable UU principles through Harry Potter-themed games and crafts.

Expect house pride, a little wizarding wisdom, some Bertie Botts every flavor beans, and a reminder that love is the most powerful magic of all!

Our young witches and wizards will discover that while we may sort into different “houses,” it’s love (not a sorting hat) that truly binds us together in beloved community, a value at the heart of Unitarian Universalism.

Have you signed up to volunteer with Family Ministry yet? We could use a few more Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers downstairs during the month of April and May!

Please consider volunteering to lead a class or support a Sunday school teacher in April and May. No wand is required, just a willing heart!

Volunteer Opportunities in April and May

Note: Current needs include:

  • 2 adult helpers to manage pizza and pie sales on March 15th,
  • 2 adult helpers to prep Easter eggs on April 4 before the hunt
  • 4 adults to manage Mr. EB’s Store in the cottage Easter morning*

* Grandparents, managing Mr. EB’s store is a sweet (and easy) way to support the Family Ministry program and our UU parents who will undoubtedly be busy chasing little egg-hunters Easter morning.

Please email sundayshaeparker@uufhnc.org to volunteer.
