1st Annual Hendersonville Pride Events

On Thursday, June 6, Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk declared Saturday, June 15, 2019, Hendersonville Pride Day, the first of its kind in Henderson County. Here are the events happening this month:

Friday, June 14, 7:00pm: Stonewall Uprising at Center for the Arts

Stonewall Uprising, a movie with follow-up discussion at Center for the Arts, 125 South Main Street, Hendersonville. Seating is first come first served. This is a free event.

Saturday, June 15, 12:00pm: Family Picnic at Patton Park

Please bring a dish to share. Games will be provided by Gay Straight Alliance youth. After the picnic there will be a rally/discussion with three guest speakers: Rev. Mark Stanley (Trinity Presbyterian), Rev. Karla Miller (First Congregational), and Rev. Joan Saniuk (Metropolitan Community Church, Sacred Journey). The speakers will remind us why this anniversary of Stonewall is so important.

Saturday, June 15, 3:30pm: Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus at Trinity Presbyterian

Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus will present their Stonewall Concert at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 900 Blythe Street, Hendersonville. Due to limited seating, tickets are required and can be obtained online at www.fcchendersonville.org/upcomingevent. Doors will open at 3:00pm for this afternoon performance. Seating is first come first served. A freewill offering will benefit the Flat Rock chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
