What is Our Mission?
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville, an inclusive community of faith for all ages, gathers in covenant to Celebrate life in all its joy and mystery Inspire journeys of truth and meaning Engage in practice and service for love, justice, and peace.
What is Our Vision?
The UUFH vision is to be an inclusive and welcoming community, guided by love and reason, where individuals of all paths find purpose and connection, fostering a world of peace, dignity, and respect for all.
Who are we?
As Unitarian Universalists, we have a history of thinking for ourselves. We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people who grew up in church, people who have no religious background, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who let the mystery be.
What do we believe?
We believe in the worth and dignity of every person, and we actively care for others and the planet we share. We seek wisdom from lived experience, guidance from both ancient wisdom and modern thought, and inspiration from music and the arts. We like to ask questions and engage in thoughtful discussion. Explore more about what we believe.
How do we act?
We are brave, curious, and compassionate thinkers and doers. We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the good. We are religiously progressive and radically inclusive.
We engage in practice and service for love, justice, and peace.
We are people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. As a Welcoming Congregation, our members publicly welcome bisexual, gay, lesbian, gender non-conforming, queer and transgender people.
We are committed to living full and meaningful lives while creating a more equitable, peaceful, and sustainable world. We live our faith through service to others via acts that are socially just and marked by kindness.
We welcome and affirm people of all abilities, and we strive to make our spaces and activities accessible to everyone.
We value the interdependent web of life and our role within it. As a Green Sanctuary, we practice environmental justice and sustainability on campus and in our programs.
Throughout our congregation’s history we’ve been a self-motivated group dedicated to making the world a better place starting with ourselves and our own community. We invite you to join us!
