Sunday Service at the Fellowship 10:30 am – All Ages
Multigenerational Service
This Sunday all will be attending a multigenerational service featuring Crystal Cauley.
Ms. Cauley, who was born and raised in Henderson county, will present a performing arts event using spoken word poetry, singing, and interpretive dance. The program is inspired by the poem “Mother to Son” written by Langston Hughes.
This program also pays tribute to the Black women in America who have endured hardships since the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
In the poem “Mother to Son”, the speaker gives her son advice about how to improve his lot in a racist society with unequal opportunities and challenges. Where white people have an easier and smoother course toward realizing their dreams, the poem argues, black people like the speaker and her son must fight through difficult, dangerous challenges just to reach the same level.
We are meeting in the Sanctuary upstairs.
A socially distanced section will be available for families.
Covid protocols will be in place including masking.
I know that families may have concerns about being together in person and indoors. I welcome you to contact me, Margie Watters, Acting Family Ministry Coordinator, directly via email: re@nulluufhnc.org ( I usually take Mondays off and may not respond to emails.)
If you haven’t done so already its time to register your kids for the UUFH 2021-2022 program
