Family Ministry

💌 Letter from the Director

Dear UU Family,

This little village of ours is a ring of light and love that’s made stronger when we come together.

Winter is behind us. The smoke has cleared (at least the literal smoke). And there’s lots to look forward to on the UU calendar.

Morgan and Vicki – my thanks to you both for organizing the FM Council gatherings! I appreciate your leadership. your enthusiasm

Love, Sunday Shae

We can help Migrant workers

🍎 Migrant Workers

Please help our migrant workers who will soon be arriving in our area. They will be helping refurbish fields affected by Hurricane Helene, plant, nourish and pick our fruits and vegetables. UUFH and many other churches/organizations are preparing welcome bags for at least 700-800 workers and their families.

Place all these items in separate bags/boxes and label Migrants. Please bring your items by April 15. This year, we need these workers more than ever, and they need our help more than ever.
When we welcome all types of strangers, we affirm the value and dignity of all humans and promote justice, equity, and the best parts of democracy.

We are collecting:
toiletries: soap, razors, toothbrushes / toothpaste, shampoo (small bottles), sunscreen
health and safety items: sunscreen, insect repellant, liquid iv mix, electrolyte powders
clothing items: ball caps, light-weight long sleeve shirts, black socks (knee high cotton),
bedding and home items: clean sheets, blankets, towels, and box fans

I Spy with My Little Eye
Can you find the cheese in these photos? I took photos of the Family Ministry classrooms, so we’d have a photo inventory for Guideone, our insurance company, in case of a fire. To make this process less scary (the sky was very smokey at the time), I let the kids hide cheese in every photo.
