Let’s Celebrate Black History again and again and again !
And let’s review what we learned about the Lunar New Year too!
Reminder – This Sunday is the Next FM Council Meeting! Yay!
We are excited for the 2nd meeting of the FM Council this Sunday after the service (2/4) in the cottage.
Childcare will be provided in the fellowship hall until 1:15 – thanks to John Runkel!
We’ll start with a finger food potluck in the fellowship hall with our kiddos for some family-style socializing (feel free to bring something to share if you’d like)!
Then those participating in the council meeting will head to the cottage for a 12pm start to the meeting while the kiddos will stay in the fellowship hall to continue snacking and hanging out. We’ll end the meeting by 1pm!
Please see the agenda here.
UU Lessons for the Week:
- Review Lunar New Year Lessons Lots of our UUFH kids were absent last week, so we’ll take some time to check out the Lunar New Year lessons they missed before diving into our lessons about Black History Month.
- Words are Powerful – We’ll discuss which words we use to discuss race and agree on words that feel safe, show love, and demonstrate inclusivity.
- The 3rd Principle: We believe that we should accept one another and keep on learning together. We will discuss this theme and then play cooperative games together.
Caregiver’s Corner:
Here are some resources to help our kids understand the reality of Black people’s experiences in American history, their impact on American culture, and to celebrate their achievements:
