new UUFH member, Marlena Sacca.

Marlena has traveled many miles in her life . She was born in Iassi, Romania. In 1964
her family emigrated to Israel. In 1975 Marlena, her husband and two babies moved to
Palo Alto, California. In 1982 she moved to Manhattan, NY where she lived until 1992
at which time Marlena and her children moved to Elizaville, NY. Over the next 30 years
she returned to California, then New York and in 2012 she settled in South Carolina until
after hurricane Matthew when she moved to Hendersonville.
Marlena is a graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music at the Tel Aviv University. She
taught piano for 14 years. In 1992 she trained at the Culinary Institute of America.
From 1997 to 2002 she owned and operated the Thatcher Inn and Restaurant in
Hopland, CA. In 2003 she founded and successfully ran the Fox ‘n’ Hound Bed and
Breakfast in Saratoga Springs, NY until her retirement.
Marlena is new to Unitarian Universalism. She became aware of the UUFH while
discussing her religious beliefs with a friend and it was suggested that she “check us
out”.
Today, her passions are her children and grandchildren. Others include: Music,
cooking, art, flowers and herbs, friends, travel and meeting kind and interesting people~
not necessarily in that order!
