returning UUFH member, Jeannie Medlin
Jeannie has lived in Laurel Park for the past 16 years in a home her mother and stepfather owned.
Before retiring she was a science teacher in Pensacola, FL. When visiting Hendersonville she fell in love with the mountains, the wildlife, the change of seasons, and the cooler weather. She promised herself she would retire here.
Jeannie joined the UUFH because it feels like home, the members are welcoming and share similar beliefs, perspectives, and values. She feels at peace and with family at the UUFH.
Jeannie volunteers at Interfaith Assistance Ministry as an interviewer. It gives her joy to help others, and it also makes her realize how fortunate she has been. She walks about three miles every day. Her reward is seeing deer and listening to the bird calls. She loves to travel, and has seen most of Europe with her Swiss friend, who was an exchange student at her parents’ home.
