Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter by Nora Smith

A lone firework
In a starless sky.

Black Lives Matter.

Then, again.

Black Lives Matter.

And, again

Black Lives Matter

Faster and faster they came

Until the sky was ablaze.
With fire and pain.

And their Light
Could not be ignored.

The fifth UU principle in the kid’s edition, is BELIEVE in what you are achieving.
It embodies commitment, determination, perseverance, patience,
and the human ability to imagine a better future and bring it to life.
Our effort added together and multiplied across time equals change.

A drop of water in the ocean.
A grain of sand upon a mountaintop.
A single snowflake in a blizzard.
An individual vote in a federal election.

Let us not give up.
Let us not forget.
