I want to start by saying ‘Kudos’ to the Worship Team!! They brought us some inspiring guest speakers this past month. Speakers who made us think and feel. So BRAVO and thank you to Becky Reid, Chuck Elston, Jan Partin, Barbara Eck and Ann Talley from all of us!
Last month I mentioned that this last year of interim ministry was an opportunity to reinvent ourselves and to bring back/keep what we love and to leave behind things we’re not wild about. The opportunity to position ourselves for our next chapter. One of my favorite things is our weekly Stones of Compassion. You may remember our Cherokee guest speaker, Lianna Constantine, asking us “Who have you told your stories to?” “Whose stories do you know?” By sharing our joys and concerns, we are sharing our stories. Members, friends and visitors sharing their joys and concerns is an opportunity for us to learn more about each person. I see these as ‘short stories’ they willingly share with us. So I listen, honoring these stories as Lianna asked of us.
The Settled Minister Search Team recently held their retreat with our assigned UUA partner and are now moving ‘full steam’ (since I am a Navy guy) ahead! It’s an exciting time for UUFH!
