President’s Message – October 2022

Our congregation is finally off to an exciting and hope-filled new season of change and growth!

We’re so happy to welcome our contract minister, Rev. Terry Davis who will be with us until next summer. We finally have a new Director of Family Ministries, Sunday Shae Parker, as well. And it’s wonderful to hear the choir singing again.

Very soon, you will start to see more changes around our property and buildings. Our landscape team continues to work on sprucing up our gardens in preparation for the fall season. Fellowship Hall is getting a face lift with a new coat of paint. Check it out this coming Sunday!  Next week, the old carpeting in FH will come up and a sturdy new flooring will be laid down.

Our UU home is not just a place to come hear enlightening sermons and drink coffee with fellow like-minded travelers.

To paraphrase Kathleen McTigue from her meditation, “Sabbath Home“:

Into this home, we bring our hunger for awakening.
We bring compassionate hearts,
And a will toward justice.
Into this home, we bring our joy
And gratitude for ordinary blessings.
By our gathering, we bless this place.
In its shelter, we know ourselves blessed.

May it be so,

Becky
