President’s Message – Sept 2021

Happy first month of fall! September! In six weeks or so our beautiful mountains will be filled with color. How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

I hope everyone received an e-mail with a link to a survey we all need to complete for the Settled Minister Search Team. When you’re completing the survey, think big. Think about who and what we have the potential to be with the right Settled Minister at the helm. If you have already completed the survey, there will be other opportunities to speak up. If you have not, please do so soon since the survey ends the 12th of September. We want input from ALL our members and friends! The members of the Search Team are our representatives, our Congressmen so to speak, they have to hear from all of us. All voices!

In keeping with our “what shall we keep, what should we leave behind” thoughts (as we reinvent ourselves), something I have always enjoyed during our services, and was reminded of on Sunday by Claire, Virginia, and Polly, was listening to and singing the music from our hymnals. I love all music but “UU” music is special. I know we are presently unable to sing, but I would still enjoy hearing some “UU” music. I miss our amazing choir! They’ll be back singing and so will we as soon as Covid is behind us. In the meantime, hearing one of our guest musicians and/or Don play and sing our favorites (as we hum along under our masks) would be some much-needed medicine for us all!
