Longtime UUFH member, Skip Sheldon, will join Don in a conversation about Skip’s life, and time with UUFH. We’ll hear about a deeper call to diversity, and learn more about Skip’s journey.
Skip (Arnold) Sheldon is active in UUFH, having been Chairman of both Finance & Endowment. He has served on the Executive Board and was Treasurer.
He & his wife Phyllis (54 yrs) have 2 sons & 4 Grandchildren.
Skip is from Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He later earned a Masters in Engineering Administration from the University of Tennessee.
Skip retired after 32 years at Dupont, then taught at Brevard College for several years after that. He was a SCORE counselor & chapter president in Hendersonville. Skip served on various Henderson County Boards and was President of Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee. He is also a member of Hendersonville University Club and was President for two terms.
In his spare/leisure time Skip enjoys Grouse Hunting & Fly Fishing.
Skip has served in multiple positions with the Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited. He has done trail building/maintaining with the Carolina Mountain Club where he is an Honorary Life Member. He is a life member in a number of other outdoor organizations as well.
Skip has been active in scouting for 60+ years and earned Eagle Scout status, has been a Scoutmaster plus served on various boards. He was also given a Lifetime Achievement Award
