Judy Bonner, member UUFH
Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop coined the phrase “Windows, Mirrors and Sliding Glass Doors” to explain how children see themselves in books and learn about the lives of others.
Judy Bonner, has been a UU since the 70’s. She has been involved in many volunteer activities over the years including Trustee, Finance, Denominational Connections, RE, Social Action, and volunteer work in the office.
She has also served on the Board at the Mountain, a UU camp and conference in Highlands, NC
Originally from New Jersey, Judy lived in South Florida for many years before moving to Hendersonville 3 years ago. She had a satisfying career as an elementary teacher then a Speech Therapist in two school systems.
She met her husband, Brian Johnson, at the Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute, aka SUUSI. Together they have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
In her free time, Judy loves to see her family, read, dance and travel. She is passionate about peace and social justice.
She currently chairs the Allies for Racial Equity Team which is a committee under the Social Action Team.
