Meg Hoke – Communications

Greetings, from the Settled Minister Search Committee

Greetings, friends.

I know folks are starting to get eager to hear more.
We cannot tell you more than that we have completed the interview process and are moving forward.
It is both exciting and nerve-wracking.  But, whatever the outcome, we have great confidence in our congregation continuing to grow together and flourishing.

Just so that you understand the upcoming process and timeline, here is how it works for all congregations in search:

March – Complete in person interviews, solidify your financial proposal and notify the UUA of your intentions and gain approval of the offer.
March 31st is the first opportunity to make an offer to candidate.
April 1st is the first opportunity for the candidates to respond to the offer.

Once an offer is made and accepted, there is a “Candidating Week” when the candidate comes for a week which encompasses two weekends.
The candidate will lead worship for both Sundays, and meet with committees and congregation members throughout that week in a carefully planned schedule designed to help as many people as possible get to know the candidate and vice versa
After the second worship service, a congregational meeting is held.
There MUST BE 50% of the congregation present at this meeting to vote on whether to accept the candidate as a settled minister.

In other words, we are approaching a time of decision-making
The Settled Minister Search Committee feels good about the process and hopeful for our prospects.
We are determined to follow the proper process for this, so we will continue to keep it confidential until such time as we are free to share.
It is an exciting, and perhaps anxious time, but keep the faith.
We are convinced this process is a good one.
We have worked hard to represent UUFH well.
Once again, THANK YOU for putting your trust in us.
