Singing the Living Tradition Pagan Style

Did you know our lovely, big, gray hymnal is full of many readings, songs, and chants used regularly in Pagan ritual and celebrations? If you look on page 677, there is a heading for Pagan, and most are listed there, but there are even many more! On page 646, the heading Interdependent Web also resonates with our Pagan community. More can be found on page 649, and 651 has a heading for solstices and equinoxes. On page 517 you will find Starhawk’s version of The Charge of the Goddess, and reading 524 speaks to us again about the Goddess. Pretty much everything under Transcending Mystery and Wonder (starts with 525) fits well with us. One reading that has spoken greatly to me personally recently is 553:

Earth cure me. Earth receive my woe. Rock strengthen me. Rock receive my weakness. Rain wash my sadness away. Rain receive my doubt. Sun make sweet my song. Sun receive the anger from my heart. (Nancy Wood)

The elements of earth, air, fire, water, and spirit have helped heal me and I am grateful. I am grateful for nature and, even more, for my UUFH and MMCUUPS family. I hope you will join us for an afternoon of fun, frolicking, and food during our Games on Lugh on Sunday, July 28, right after service and coffee!

Be well and be blessed!
Regina and all the MMCUUPS members
