At our Sunday service on December 4, Rev. Terry Davis will speak on the theme “I Believe In…” to launch our third Outreach Collection for 2022-2023. This Collection benefits Guest at Your Table – Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (uusc.org).
December holidays and holy days are about stories – beautiful, magical stories of hope and giving, of lights and celebration. Many UUs have given up our beliefs in some of the religious and secular narratives that are revisited this time of year. However, the month of December can still be an invitation to examine our beliefs and how they guide our human existence and relationship to all of life. Let’s explore what that means and why honoring it with stories matter.
Judy Bonner will present GAYT and the Family Ministry children will be participating and distributing collection boxes on 12/04. Donations can be made through January 10, 2023 with check or cash in the returned boxes or by a check in the Collection Plate (designate “GAYT Outreach” in the memo line please). ONLINE donations should use the Outreach choice.

FRIDAY ACTION HOUR
Every Friday at 11:00am UUs from across the state gather to recap the past week and take action on the issues impacting our state and country. In the coming month, we’ll be focusing on the upcoming municipal elections and will also keep the pressure on our elected officials to better promote the HOPE program. We always have good music to help us feel the justice movement in our bones! Join us via this Zoom link.

MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE – HENDERSONVILLE
10TH ANNIVERSARY OF SANDY HOOK MASS SHOOTING
December 14, 2022 marks the 10th Anniversary of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that took the lives of twenty young children, and six adult staff members.
We will be holding an interfaith service of reflection and remembrance at Trinity Presbyterian Church (900 Blythe St) 9:00am, Wednesday, December 14 to mark the exact moments this horrific event unfolded.
While Sandy Hook resonates as a tipping point in America’s gun violence epidemic, leading to the formation of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense, this inclusive service will remember and recognize other communities and victims that have been impacted by daily gun violence and mass shootings. As of this writing, faith leaders from First Congregational, Grace Lutheran, Agudas Israel, and Unitarian Universalist fellowship of Hendersonville will be joining Rev. Dr. Mark Stanley at Trinity Presbyterian.
For those who can’t attend the morning service at Trinity, we will be holding a short Candlelight Vigil at 5:00pm on December 14 in front of the historic Henderson County Courthouse. (weather permitting)
