CONGREGATIONAL PROJECT SEARCH for 2023-2024
It’s January 2023 and for the UUFH Social Justice Team, it’s now time to begin the process of finding a Congregational Project for the 2023-2024 church year. Our current Allies for Racial Equity Project began in the summer of 2022 will expire, if not renewed, on June 30, 2023. Prior to the current project, we adopted an Environmental Justice Project.
The “Gardiner model” GARDINER model -2023.docx was introduced to the UUFH Social Justice Team in 2017. The model is adaptable for congregational needs and capabilities and unites the congregation – not just the Social Justice Team – around a chosen social justice issue.
Input from the congregation is vital for the selection process and participation is vital to implementation and success. Your attendance at this meeting is especially welcome; additional project meetings may be scheduled.
If you have a project that you would like to see adopted and are willing to be a leader, co-leader or major contributor to the effort, please submit a draft proposal to the Team for consideration at our February SJT meeting (via Zoom, noon, Tuesday, February 7).
Use the example in the Gardiner model link GARDINER model -2023.docx as the starting point for your submission. The Team will work with you to develop a project proposal for the Annual Meeting vote by the Fellowship.
