MAY OUTREACH COLLECTION – through May 31
TrueRidge Crisis Management Fund for Migrant Workers
May is the month for the Outreach Collection to benefit the Crisis Management Fund for Migrant Workers at True Ridge.
This Fund has been active for about 2 years and has been invaluable in many crisis situations. Examples include:
- The fund has provided money for emergency medical treatment when none was available from local organizations.
- Money was quickly obtained to hold rental property as it goes as fast as it comes on the market.
- We are now working with a family whose mother is in hopes of getting some help for a botched leg amputation and they are living in one small room with only a one burner hotplate for cooking and no transportation until they can get tags and license plate. We are trying to help them get items to make their lives a little better. The father has been in the hospital but normally is a migrant agricultural worker.
100% of the money goes to help migrant workers.
If you would like your offering to go to this program, please write “Crisis Response Fund” in the memo line of your check. Or, if you are giving cash, please use an envelope (provided in the Foyer), write your name on it, and mark it “Crisis Response Fund”. You may also contribute through your Vanco account via the UUFH website. Click “Donate” at the top of the website home page and select “Outreach Fund.”
Thank you for your generosity.
