UU Justice NC Calls to Action!
[1] Tell Governor Josh Stein to Veto Anti-Immigration Bills
This week, the NC General Assembly passed anti-immigration bills SB153 and HB318. Unfortunately, we have reason to believe that Governor Stein still needs convincing to veto these bills and protect our immigrant neighbors.
Call Governor Josh Stein at 919-814-2000
Basic Script
Hi, my name is ____ I am a resident of ______and I am a person of faith / conscience. I join others across the state in urging you to veto HB318 – the Expansion of Cooperation with ICE bill and SB153 the so-called “Border Protection Act”
Despite the vital role immigrant communities play in our state, this harmful anti-immigrant legislation would disempower already vulnerable communities, promote racial profiling, and strain the trust between immigrants and public institutions.
Do the people of North Carolina have your commitment to veto these three bills?
[2]. Public Comment Party Against MVP Southgate Pipeline – Wednesday, June 18th at 6:30pm on Zoom
The staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is in the process of determining the environmental impacts of the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) Southgate Amendment Project involving construction and operation of facilities by MVP in Pittsylvania County, Virginia and Rockingham County, North Carolina.
Join our NC climate justice coalition in writing public comments against this harmful pipeline. Register Here.
