My husband, Alan, and I decided it made sense to someday retire near our family in WNC. In late 2019, I retired as a Principal Ecologist from an environmental company in Gainesville, Florida. Shortly thereafter, I was invited to help with my grandsons’ virtual schooling during the pandemic.
Ron started donating blood about 15 years ago and to date has given 12 gallons of blood. Ron donates “whole blood” which is the most flexible type of donation. It can be transfused in its original form, or used to help multiple people when separated into its specific components of red cells, plasma and platelets.
