UUFH to Host Program: Rise Up & Call Her Name

Rise Up & Call Her Name is a monthly program about earth-based culture, spirituality and female empowerment. The first session is scheduled for Monday, January 9, 6:00-8:00 pm in Fellowship Hall.

Experienced by thousands of groups and individuals around the world since 1995, Rise Up and Call Her Name is a self-contained 13-session course that weaves together spiritual stories worldwide that honor female divinities. By focusing on self-awareness, these stories become relevant and inspiring to the individuals participating.

Various forms of art, dialogue and reflection will be used to explore interconnectedness as well as diversity and individuality. The program describes traditions that have honored the Earth for centuries, resulting in a deeper understanding of each participant’s spirituality and self-worth.

Rise Up and Call Her Name was originally published by the UU Women’s Federation in 1995 and reissued by author Elizabeth Fisher in 2007. The author of publications on International Human Rights, Fisher is currently creating the internet educational and entertaining project Rainbows at the Crossroads.

The program at UUFH will be facilitated by Regina Hutchison, member of UUFH for three years and facilitator of several similar courses.

The sessions are free for UUFH members and members of MMCUUPS and $5.00 per session for others. For additional information, contact MMCUUPS@nullgmail.com.
