“All That She Carried: A Journey of Resilience”

Rev. Terry Davis

Written by American Historian and Harvard Professor Tiya Alicia Miles, All That She Carried is a nonfiction book that traces the life of a single object – a cotton sack – as it is handed down from an enslaved woman named Rose to her daughter and the generations of descendants that followed her. The winner of numerous awards, All That She Carried was selected by UUFH’s Social Justice Committee as our “congregational read” and part of UUFH’s commitment to learn, reflect, and act for racial justice.

Rev. Terry will explore the major themes in the book, and after the service, will facilitate a discussion in the Sanctuary. All are welcome to participate, whether you’ve read the book or
not.
