UUFH Member Named Director of UU Forward Together Justice Ministry Network

Martha “Kitten” Bulen of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hendersonville has been named as a director of the UU Forward Together North Carolina Justice Ministry Network. Ms. Bulen will join the board of eight other directors from across the state and will begin her work in September.

The mission of UU Forward Together, a 501 C-3 organization, is to bring together Unitarian Universalist congregations and justice leaders in North Carolina to strengthen local justice programs; foster communication and common cause among UU congregations in North Carolina; be a resource for public policy and legislative information; and develop partnerships with other organizations that share UU values and public policy priorities.

Kitten has extraordinary justice advocacy experience. From childhood civil rights disobedience to a fulsome legal career in what she calls “people law,” Her career has included practicing domestic or family law, school law, and representing handicapped children, parents and children in abuse and neglect dependency cases, and much more.

The board is delighted to have Kitten’s lifetime of UU experience, legal skills, and a lifelong commitment to social justice.
