“What if I Fail? But Oh Darling, What if You Fly?” 

We’ve all been afraid of failure or falling at one point or another in our lives haven’t we? I believe there are many times where falling can teach us to fly…what do you think?


SPEAKER

Rev. Phillip Thomason

Rev Thomason is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta with a Masters of Divinity and PhD. In Pastoral Care. He served as Director of Hospice Care at Henrietta Egelston Hospital for Children and Clinical Chaplain in Oncology and HIV/AIDS at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

He is now retired and lives with his husband of 26 years in Brevard NC, along with their schnauzer, Eleanor (yes, you guessed it, named after Eleanor Roosevelt.) He likes to read, follow University of Tennessee women’s basketball and travel.


MUSICIAN

Jenna Jaffee

Jenna Jaffe has been performing music, dancing and making art since she was a child.  She has a vocal performance degree from the UC Santa Barbara and extensive graduate vocal work at the USC. Jenna is multifaceted. She is a multi-instrumentalist who has taught for thirty years. She is mixed media visual artist that focuses on equality for all life ( you can see her work at The Refinery, in Asheville). Jenna teaches ESL at AB Tech, is on the Board at AAPF, and both National & WNC Music Teachers Association.

In 2022 she received  a Tzedek Social Justice Impact Award for her musical and artistic work engaged in community activism and system change. 

In her “spare” time she  gardens, studies languages, mindfulness, and energy healing. She also performs regularly in Asheville NC.
