UUs in Action: Feed the Kids

This week we highlight a whole slew of UUFH’ers who are passionate about the organization Feed the Kids!

Feed the Kids Coalition was formed in early 2009 to provide 120 children at the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County with a hot nutritious meal each week.  UUFH and Agudas Israeli volunteers are the “servers” while volunteers from Trinity Presbyterian cook and deliver the food to the Boys & Girls Club.  UUFH participates in one of the five teams who prep and serve Friday meals throughout the school year.

Fast forward to Friday, March 10, 2023 where 194 kids were served a great meal by our UUFH volunteers.  March 10th servers included ( L>R) Elizabeth Smolski, Chuck Elston, Cheryl Snyder, Charlotte Corrigan, Rhoda Apfelbeck, Liz Diehl, Patty Smith, and Steve Weisberg. Charlotte is the leader of this enthusiastic group and has been serving at Feed the Kids since 2013.

Not pictured are Ann Talley, Harry Corrigan, Ed Law, Evette Strickland, Joe Robustelli, Peggy Law, Phyllis Sheldon, Becky Reid, Warren Boo and Deanne Emon.  If you are interested in volunteering or want more information, please contact Charlotte at hccorrigan@nullmsn.com

UUFH’ers in Action

As a community of compassionate, caring people, we are everywhere in Henderson County volunteering our time and talents to many worthy non-profit organizations.  We want to highlight our members and friends who regularly give back locally.  Please contact Peggy Law at pegster1128@nullgmail.com so that we can share your good works with everyone and help solicit additional volunteers.
