Green Sanctuary: Climate Justice

2023-2024Congregationa lProject Proposal Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville

We are very excited to jump into our Green Sanctuary journey! As you recall, the congregation voted at our Annual Meeting in July to pursue “Green Sanctuary 2030: Mobilizing for Climate Justice” as our congregational project for the year.

Our Green Sanctuary Steering Committee has been hard at work behind the scenes, and we are currently compiling information for our “Opportunity Assessment,” which will help us determine the most impactful path forward for our congregation. To help with this, we’re asking everyone to take a few minutes to fill out this   UUFH Climate Justice Survey  about your personal habits.

On Sunday, Oct. 1st,UUFH outreach collection will be supporting MountainTrue. MountainTrue is a local nonprofit organization that champions resilient forests, clean waters, and healthy communities in the Southern Blue Ridge.

Nancy Diaz,  MountainTrue’s Southern Regional Director based here in Hendersonville, will be joining us at our Sunday Service.
All donations made during the offering this Sunday, unless otherwise noted, will go to MountainTrue. You can continue to contribute each Sunday in October by specifying MountainTrue on the memo line of your check or on the envelope (in the foyer) if you choose to donate cash. And as always, the Donate button on our website is available, chose “Outreach Fund.”  UUFH is proud to support MountainTrue as they work to support resilient forests, clean water, and healthy communities in Western North Carolina.
