The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville invites you to participate in a timely community project. We will donate books that feature the many cultures, distinct traditions and realities of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to local schools and other institutions.

This project will help nurture the potential of children in Henderson County by providing literature that reflects and honors their lives and experiences. We believe that our community will be enhanced by helping children appreciate themselves and others.

Thanks to generous donations, UUFH was able to donate a set of 25 books to the libraries at Atkinson Elementary School and Bruce Drysdale Elementary School.

We need your help:

In order to expand to other schools and/or other appropriate projects we need your contributions.  $20 purchases one book and $500 purchases a set.  Any donation amount is most welcome and appreciated.  By helping children of many diverse backgrounds find stories and authors that they can relate to, that center and celebrate characters of many different identities, we hope to help empower them and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Donate online HERE and select “Diversity Book Project” from the list.

Or, mail a check payable to UUFH with “diversity book project” in the memo to:
